Rainbows for Rainy Days

This  is a wonderful little book for those who are hurting or in pain, or may have an illness they are dealing with.   Broken down into 40 special devotionals, each one is started with a verse and then takes us through those verses to see God’s hand in all that we have to deal with in life.
We are shown that no matter where we are in life, no matter what situations we may have to deal with God is always there for us.  Whether we are a widow mourning for our mate, a person dealing with depression or sickness…. God will always be there, and have a plan for our lives.
I highly recommend this little book, it would make a great gift for someone that is hurting in any way;  from it’s attractive cover to the devotionals inside

I received this book free from the publisher . I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own. Red Dawn Rising

From the back of the book:  “They come from opposite sides of the world…. And opposite lives.   She is a young set designer on Broadway.  He is a former KGB assassin trying to outrun his viscous past and the underground revolution he once served.  What they have in common are painful secrets that fester deep inside them, and an urgent quest for answers that can save the United States from a massive terrorist strike….. and the famed pianist Liesl Bower from assassination.

In this wonderful suspense novel written by Sue Duffy, we are led into the lives of Cass Rodino, a set designer in New York City, her step father Hans Kluen, Jordan, her neighbor and friend.   Together Cass and Jordan uncover the fact that her step father is connected to the KGB.
In this unique connection of suspense and romance, we are led through many twists and new turn in events in every chapter.  This novel will keep you reading and wanting more.

The second book in the Red Returning Trilogy, it is action packed and a wonderful read.  I enjoyed reading this novel and highly recommend this book.

A Season of Mysteries

From the publisher:

Some may think the ability to recall entire conversations verbatim is a remarkable gift. But to fifty-year-old Dr. Richard Powell, it is a disruptive burden. He is being haunted by words. The words take him back to 1976, to the unforgettable summer when he and his friends of Boy Scout Troup 44 first witness an epic conflict between good and evil.
Faith was relatively new to Zack, Donnie, Skeeter, and the other boys who had played together on the 1971 champion Little League team. That baseball season was forever imprinted on their souls, due in large part to the life-changing actions of a boy named Rafer. But this summer--they would discover the real depth of their souls and the dangerous influences battling for control of their lives.

A follow-up to Whitener's acclaimed debut novel, A Season of Mysteries takes readers back to a time between the innocence of childhood and the uncertainty of teenage years; where girls, studies, and life's bigger issues become a reality. With the same gripping prose that made Whitener an award-winning screenplay writer, A Season of Mysteries explores the seen and unseen spiritual powers at work and the Ultimate Power who controls it all.

Rusty Whitener takes us into the lives of some teenage friends, who happen to become involved with the supernatural realm, through a man named Peachy.  The story revolves around Richard and his friends back in the year 1976, and how they deal with growing up, baseball, boy scouts and the idea of demon possession.     This story was captivating and believable.
I truly enjoyed this novel; it was action packed, easy and quick to read.  Very easy for summer reading.
