This is a story that involves three generations, beginning before the turn of the century to the 1950's. There is mystery, murder and suspense, lies and love. It keeps the reader on pins and needles, waiting to see what comes next.
Based in the State of Delaware and Pennsylvania, it has some history in it as well. I am quite familiar with Brandywine, and Chadds Ford and West Chester, coming from that area.
If you like suspense, mystery then this is the book for you. It is very well written, easy to follow, and hard to put down! Just a note though, that this is a secular book, written for a secular world, so there is some language in the book.

Prized
From the Publisher: Prized! Your Journey as His Daughter, is a fresh and inspiring new perspective on how to live for and love God in a dark world. The teenage years bring some of the most difficult experiences that life has to offer. However, it can also be an amazing time of growing spiritually and making decisions to be proud of. Prized! Your Journey as His Daughter, is filled with relatable stories, helpful tips, and the truth of God's Word that will offer inspiration as you navigate the wonderful world of dating, making and maintaining healthy friendships, learning to understand and relate to parents, dealing with superficiality, and realizing your full potential as God's beloved Child. Glorify God. Enjoy Him forever. It starts now.
Noelle Toscano has given her reading audience a good perspective on how to look at their road in life. Especially to a younger audience, she lets them know that they aren't alone in their travels, and that God is there with them all the time, they just have to turn to Him. She gives real life stories to use as illustrations in her writing, which makes it much easier for a younger audience to relate to.
She has the gospel in and throughout the book, which I really enjoyed and love to see. And I like how she dealt with the dating issue, and the issue on purity; and finally letting God choose her husband!
I would use this book as a Bible study with a teenage to young adult audience. It was a good, fast easy read.

Choosing Gratitude
From the Publisher:
Gratitude is a choice. If we fail to chose it, by default we choose ingratitude. And once allowed into the heart, ingratitude does not come by itself but with a lot of other seedy companions that only succeed in stealing joy. To not choose gratitude - daily and deliberately - is more costly than we usually realize. And when we do choose a lifestyle of heartfelt, humble gratitude, we are mindful of the benefits received from our gracious Savior and those He has placed around us.
By intentionally thanking God and others, bitterness and entitlement are replaced with joy and the humble realization of just how undeserving we really are. Derived from a popular Revive Our Hearts radio series, Choosing Gratitude: Your Journey to Joy challenges and equips the reader to live a life of intention. A life based on thankfulness - for the freedom Christ has provided and for the blessings of others.
This is an amazing book, Nancy Leigh DeMoss has hit the nail on the head with this book. Gratitude is something that people are losing in today's society. We live in such a "me" oriented society today that we forget to look at the positive side of things. In her book, Ms. DeMoss first has you look deep into yourself to see where your heart is sitting with gratitude. She then takes you through step by step to start to look for the joy in every day life.
I like when she refers to ungrateful people as" Ungrateful people are much like a container that has a hole in it, leaking out every blessing that's been poured in". How many of us are leaking out our blessings?
In today's thankless society I think that every person, Christian or not needs to read this book! This book comes highly recommended. This book would make a great Bible Study, and contains a 30 day devotional as well.

Return of the Heroine
From the publisher:
For Joan of Arc, it was about surviving in a man’s world. Nearly six hundred years later, at West Point, not much has changed.
One of the greatest heroines of all time returns and reveals the wisdom she received from Archangel Michael. “When you dare to commit to your deepest desires, your heart grows to accommodate the task at hand, no matter how daunting,” Archangel Michael advises Joan of Arc before she embarks on a mission that will change the course of history. With only eleven days left to live, she must take yet another leap of faith, surrender to the guidance of Archangel Michael, and set the record straight to ensure those in the future know the truth.
Her legacy reaches across the veil of time to awaken the heroine in all women. And for one twenty-first-century woman, Jane Archer, a West Point cadet, it means finding the courage to expose a cultural crime that has been dis-empowering women for centuries. In the process, she must learn to trust her own inner guidance.
Kaye Michelle has written a unique story based on history and the present time. The book is easy to read, keeps the readers attention. For those that love history this would be a book for them. I personally was uneasy over the fact that the story is trying to promote female leadership, and with some of the morals in the story.

Finally Free
Synopsis:
Mr. Lambert has written a much needed book dealing with an area of sin that has consumed a major portion of society. I like that he has used grace as a major theme of his counseling. Grace is something that doesn't come easy for most people. I would recommend this book for counselors, and those who know someone, or if you are someone dealing with this huge problem.
In Finally Free, Heath Lambert identifies eight clear strategies, each based on the work of Christ, that will help those caught in the trap of pornography turn from their sin to trust in the sufficiency of Jesus Christ. Each chapter is grounded in grace and clearly articulates how to apply the gospel in practical ways that will help free people from pornography.

Collateral Damage
When Annie Ogden’s ex-boyfriend Michael Garcia reappears, she has to confront a lie dating back to her time in Iraq. Will she go back to hot, passionate Michael, who has developed a disturbing interest in meth, or stick with her pudgy PI partner and fiancee Salvatore? The calculus changes when Michael is arrested for murder. When Salvatore refuses to help investigate, Annie is forced to try to find the killer herself. Meanwhile her sister’s creepy husband, Todd, is making more of an ass of himself than usual. Annie's problems with three obsessive men suddenly pale in significance when she realizes the killer has set his sights on her. Having changed his mind about helping her, Salvatore finds himself in a desperate race against time, the only man capable of finding the killer before it’s too late.
This is a well written, easy to read book, it is full of suspense, action. It will keep the reader on the edge of their seat, with this book that will grab your attention, and not put the book down. On the downside, this is a secular book, not recommended for Christians to read. It is full of language, and moral issues.

Death on Lindisfarne
Description:
Grieving the loss of wife and mother, Aidan and Melangell visit the renowned spiritual retreat center on the British island of Lindisfarne so Aidan can share with bright eight-year-old Melangell one of the places that inspired Jenny to write her books.
There they meet up with Jenny’s friend Lucy, a Methodist minister, who is teaching a course on the local Northumbrian saints. Lucy has brought Rachel, a troubled teenager, to the Holy Island in hopes that the remoteness and peace of the location will help her.
But when Rachel is found dead on the beach, everyone on the island is under suspicion. As investigators and Rachel’s “friends” come to the island, Aidan and Lucy learn more about Rachel, and Lucy’s past as a policewoman is revealed.
And so Aidan is drawn into his second mystery. Masterfully told by award-winning author Fay Sampson, Death on Lindisfarne explores the complicated motivations of fallen people against the backdrop of ancient holiness.
